Try not to get misty over this sweet father-son scene from Love, Simon. I sensed the teen coming-of-age story would be funny, but it looks like it’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster as well. I can’t wait.
Love, Simon is a thrilling ride about finding yourself and falling in love. It’s based on the best-selling young adult novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. It’s produced by the same studio as The Fault In Our Stars.
Riverdale and Arrow maestro Greg Berlanti directed the flick. Nick Robinson plays the lead character, Simon. He’s joined by Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Tony Hale, Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel.
The touching scene below shows Duhamel and Robinson having a candid and moving conversation in the aftermath of Robinson coming out to his family on Christmas morning. There are tears involved and a heartfelt hug, but the Grindr punchline at the end is the best part.
