No typo there. That’s probably the oddest and most random title I’ve ever written in my life but it’s all true. Here are the deets.
According to the Guardian, Joseph Fiennes is set to play Michael Jackson in a television movie airing on Sky Arts. The film is based on an article published in Vanity Fair back in 2011. According to the piece, the “Gloved One,” who was in New York during the 9/11 attacks, hit the road to escape the mayhem and return back home.
Joining MJ for the road trip were Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando who were also in NYC to watch his concert at Madison Square Garden. “They actually got as far as Ohio – all three of them, in a car they drove themselves,” claimed a former employee of Jackson. Apparently, Brando insisted on stopping at various fast food restaurants en route, according to folklore. Find out who’s playing Taylor and Brando in the film.
Stockard Channing and Brian Cox have been cast to play the legendary film icons. This casting is a bit more inspired and less WTF than Fiennes as Jackson.
Given the casting plus the randomness of the alleged road trip, I’m beyond curious to watch all this depicted on screen. Is your interest piqued? Sound off below.
