OH NO! This is terrible news. Tudors actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to a London hospital on Tuesday night after he reportedly took a large quantity of pills in order to commit suicide. The UK Sun who broke the story did not specify what type of pills they were. When paramedics arrived at Jonathan’s home Tuesday night, they found him “slumped on the floor”. As the paramedics tried to help him, he refused treatment and prompted them to call the police instead. Scotland Yard confirmed the following:
“Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital.”
How awful. Jonathan has had quite the budding career in film and TV mini-series not to mention a gigantic cologne campaign with Hugo Boss. To say this suicide attempt came out of the blue would be an understatement. Meyers was released from the hospital yesterday morning and stated “no comment” when questioned about the incident. Jonathan is no stranger to substance abuse however. The actor has a known trouble with alcohol and last year, checked himself into a South African rehab facility… his fifth go at rehab.
