JoJo’s new music video is definitely not “Too Little, Too Late“. In fact, the timing couldn’t be any more perfect. Welcome back JoJo. You’ve been missed. I love me some JoJo and excited she’s finally releasing new music and promoting it. “Disaster” is the lead cut from her upcoming third studio album which is scheduled to be released in early 2012. It’s about time Miss Levesque.
“I’m thrilled to present you with Disaster, the first visual from my new album, Jumping Trains. I had such a great time making the video, and I hope you guys will love it as much as I do. Thank you as always for your support. You all keep me going everyday.” – JoJo
Now that she’s 20-years-old, JoJo is a full grown woman and her lyrics reflect that. Her new track describes a relationship coming to an end. It’s a powerful tune that showcases her vocals perfectly. Directed by Benny Boom, the clip allows JoJo to show off some acting skills. She even gets to make out with that sexy Brit, Rafi Gavron. For you “Life Unexpected” fans, you’ll remember him as Lux’s ex-boyfriend Bug. Great to see his cute face again. Check out what JoJo had to say about filming her latest clip.
“I had such a fun time collaborating with Benny Boom. I’m a fan of his work especially Next Day Air (the last film he directed) and was so thrilled that he wanted to do the video! He really captured the atmosphere that I wanted to create and helped bring “Disaster” to life.”
“In choosing our leading man, I wanted it to be someone that was genuinely a rough-around-the-edges kinda guy. Manicured “pretty boys” needed NOT apply. I had seen Rafi Gavron in Nick & Norah’s Infinite playlist and thought he was a great actor and a natural choice for me. He embodied the edge and rugged sexiness that I wanted my guy to have. I wanted him to feel a bit like a bad boy from Boston, and although Rafi is from the UK, he pulled it off perfectly.”
“I loved the performance scenes because I got to rock out with my real-life musician-friends! We had a great time jamming and doing what we love.”
“Kissing someone I had just met that day was….uummm….Nerve racking! But, I pushed my butterflies to the side and went for it. Rafi made me very comfortable and took any pressure that I was feeling off my shoulders.”
What did you think of the track and music video? Will it be a comeback hit for JoJo? Post all your thoughts below.
