It’s been so great to see all of the “IT GETS BETTER” videos circulating the internet (including ours). Teens, adults, celebrities – everyone getting sharing their stories and love to help teens dealing the homophobic and hateful people they be surrounded with – at the present time.

In this latest video, a Fort Worth City Councilman named Joel Burns shares his story and how deeply he has been affected and heartbroken by all of the suicides that have taken place as of late. He too was once a thirteen year old boy, struggling with the changing feelings inside combined with the name calling and threats from kids and teens that once bullied him. They made him feel like there was something wrong with him and that feeling was almost too much to bear.

He breaks down several times during the speech at the city council meeting, as he talks about what he would say to himself if he could talk to the thirteen year old he once was. He would tell them how things were all going to change and how amazing life would become…
