We’ve been watching Jessica Lowndes on the CW’s 9O21O for four seasons now. We’ve always known she can sing, it’s how her crazy character was introduced to us right from the get-go. However, the Vancouver-native actress has never really attempted to pursue music full time at all. I guess she wanted to keep the focus on her acting? But now, it looks like all the pieces are falling into place for her.

This Spring, Jessica revealed that she was working on a full length album in the UK however, no songs were released until this fall, the track Fool hit iTunes. The slower jam showcased Lowndes’ smooth vocals but really lacked a spark to separate her from the pack. This weekend, Jessica released a new single and video for her track I Wish I Was Gay.

The song rings out about how she wishes she was gay because “all these boys just treat her the same.” In the music video, Jessica invites her cheating boyfriend to a club where she gives him a little burlesque dance before revealing that she has proof he cheated proceeding to torture the lad. Check it out below.

Jessica Lowndes – “I Wish I Was Gay”

While the video production is quite well done, the song and performance from Lowndes is only luke warm in my opinion. If she was going to go for that vindictive, dark edge in the video, she needed to really go for it and commit. Where are those crazy eyes we always see her rock on 9O21O? What do you think of Lowndes’ first solo video effort? Will you be purchasing her album when it drops? Sound off below.
