Are you enjoying Jessica Lange as the wickedly delicious Fiona on American Horror Story: Coven? Better enjoy it while you can. The 64-year-old Oscar-winning actress revealed to Los Angeles Times that she only has one more season of the FX series in her. It’s part of her five-year plan to leave show business altogether.
“I am coming to the end of acting,” she reveals. “I have a list: another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of ‘American Horror Story’ … and then that is it for me. Because I think that’s enough. I want to go out with a bang … or should I say, a scare?”
She goes on to tell the interviewer that she’s grateful to Ryan Murphy for reenergizing her career. She explains, “There’s no shame in recognizing that. It’s exposed me to a whole new generation, which is a little strange. I’m not used to young people thinking I’m cool.”
Along with Lange, other actors that have appeared in all three iterations of the spooky series are Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe. Will AHS be the same without her? I’ve only seen Coven, but if she’s half as great on the other seasons, the future incarnations just won’t be the same. Do you agree? Sound off below.
