You’d think becoming a new father wouldn’t leave a lot of time for hitting the studio lay down a new track. However, proud papa Jay-Z had time to spit a rhyme or two with The Neptunes to tribute his new baby daughter, Blue Ivy. “The most amazing feeling I feel… Baby, I paint the sky blue / My greatest creation was you.” Are you serious? How endearing and amazing is this song? Also, the song features Blue herself. Yes, her first few cries from the delivery room were recorded and sampled in the track.
A few other rockin’ lyrics from the song include “a pinch of Hov, a whole glass of B” and “your a child from a Destiny’s Child / that’s one hell of a recipe.” In the track, Jay-Z also admits that Beyoncé had previously suffered a miscarriage in the lyrics, “You was made in Paris and mama woke up the next day and shot her album package / Last time the miscarriage was so tragic / We was afraid you disappeared but nah baby, you magic.” Get your Kleenex out and listen to Glory.
