I’ve been crushing on Jason Momoa since his Baywatch Hawaii days. Dang, he was such a twink back then. But like a fine wine, he’s only gotten better with age. Just when I thought my infatuation had reached its peak, I’m even more in love with him after watching this clip. The 37-year-old actor opens up about his family in “Canvas Of My Life,” a collaboration with Carhartt.
Long before Hollywood got ahold of Jason Momoa and turned him into a savage warlord and our latest superhero, he was just a kid who grew up the son of an artist from a family of builders and hunters from a small town in Iowa. Raised by a strong single mother, he craved everything his mom opened his eyes to, from art to music to rock climbing and skateboarding. All of this left a deep sense of adventure in his blood.
This is the story of a man hell-bent on remaining that kid – no matter how big he gets or where the world takes him. Because family, “My Ohana” as Jason likes to say, is all that matters to him.
While the sight of a shirtless Momoa emerging out of the water is breathtaking (obviously), it’s the moments when he’s with his children that are my favorites. Who doesn’t get a little weak in the knees seeing a hot dad doting over his family. Definitely tugs at one’s heartstrings.
Check out the clip below, which also serves somewhat as a promo for Aquaman. Can’t wait for that superhero flick.
