Janet Jackson Among 2016 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

Janet Jackson is one of the high-profile names nominated to be possibly inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. To qualify, artists need to have released their first album or single 25 years ago. More than 800 artists, historians and music-industry professionals will vote to decide which of the acts get the honor. For the fourth year in a row, the public is encouraged to vote at RockHall.com.

Joining Jackson as first time nominees are Chaka Khan, Cheap Trick and Chicago to name a few. NWA who have been nominated four times stands a good chance of making the cut this year given the success of the blockbuster film Straight Outta Compton.

If they don’t, they still aren’t the Susan Lucci of the bunch. Disco group Chic has been nominated ten times. The committee better given them their due this year. It’s about time. Check out all the nominees below.
