After reading Patrick’s post about the AMAs (American Music Awards), it inspired me to do a quick write up about one of my favorite singers of all time, Janet Jackson. I’ve had a crush on Janet ever since I saw “What Have You Done For Me Lately”. Several songs from her discography have provided a soundtrack to a lot of key moments in my life.

Last week, I watched her hour-long interview with Robin Roberts to promote her second greatest hits compilation. Released last week, the set features a new kick-ass song, “Make Me”. The Rodney Jerkins produced track is vintage Janet at her best- simple, catchy, fun and light. The music video also carries on with the same whimsical theme. After watching it just once, I found myself trying to replicate a few of her dance moves.

Another reason to re-watch the video is to gawk at one her back-up dancers- Nico Archambault. The winner of SYTYCD Canada not only has a prominent role in the video, but he also joined her during her opening performance at this year’s AMAs. For people who don’t know how HOT Nico is, I’ve attached a shirtless pic from one of his SYTYCD performances. A few months, ago I had the pleasure of meeting the talented dancer at a show for his group- Pin-up Saints. The Robert Hales directed video also features Natalli Reznik, another SYTYCD alum.

JANET JACKSON: MAKE ME MUSIC VIDEO

What did you think? Love it or hate it? Even though I liked “Discipline”, most of the albums that were released while she was dating Jermaine Dupri were sub-par at best. Now that she’s single again, hopefully she’ll take her rightful place reigning on top of the music charts.
