Darth Vader Recites Justin Bieber’s Masterpiece In Dramatic Reading

It’s amazing how a silly hilarious stunt can help a fledgling talk show get some much needed press. When James Earl Jones booked an appearance on “The Gayle King Show“, he probably had no idea what he signed for. At the tail end of his interview, Gayle politely asked the voice of Darth Vader if he could recite a stanza from Justin Bieber’s hit “Baby“. Even before he started reciting Bieber’s words, I started to smile in anticipation of what was coming. Watch it below and see what you think.

As an special added bonus, I also embedded a video of William Shatner on The Conan O’Brien Show. The former Captain Kirk, also did a dramatic reading of his own. He delivered a uber dramatic, complete with hand motions, performance of Rihanna’s “Umbrella”. His short showing here is way funnier than the crap he’s forced to spit out on CBS’ “$#*! My Dad Says”. Check them both out below, and cast your vote on which was better.

William Shatner on The Conan O’Brien Show

Am I the only one who thinks this, but isn’t William Shatner the male version of Betty White? He’s only getting better (and funnier) with age. Speaking of age, I can’t believe Jones had to read lyrics written by someone 64 years his junior. Which pop singers’ lyrics do you want to get the dramatic reading treatment? And more importantly, read by whom?
