Danny Boyle is officially out. The Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire director was set to direct Bond 25 but has left due to “creative differences.” The franchise’s official Twitter account made the announcement.

Given that Boyle’s T2 Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge penned the new Bond screenplay, it’s a safe bet that the differences were between Boyle and EON’s Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
It’s a shame Boyle is out. I was excited to see his take on the long-running franchise after Sam Mendes bowed out after directing Skyfall and Spectre.
Bond 25, which marks Daniel Craig’s fifth outing as the iconic spy, was set to begin filming in December. Will producers find a new director in time or will production be postponed thereby delaying the scheduled October 25, 2019 and November 8, 2019 premiere in the UK and US respectively?
