IT followed the first half of Stephen King’s eponymous novel, telling the story of a group of children who are terrorized by Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgard) and forced to face their own demons to defeat him. The sequel will follow the last half of the novel, when the characters return to their hometown years later as adults to face Pennywise once again. Ever since the sequel was officially announced, fans have been eager to see which actors would be tapped to play the adult versions of the kids.
Though it hasn’t been officially announced, Jessica Chastain is pretty much a lock to play Beverly Marsh, the part previously played by Sophia Lillis. There’s now word that two other actors are in talks to join Chastain in the film.
Both Bill Hader and James McAvoy are in negotiations to play Richie and Bill respectively. Those parts were previously played by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and Midnight Special actor Jaeden Lieberher in the first installment.
Production for the sequel is set to begin this summer with a release date of September 6, 2019 in mind. What do you think of these potential castings? Solid choices or way off the mark?
