It always surprises me that Australia still doesn’t have marriage equality given that several of their fellow Commonwealth compatriots including Great Britain, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand legalized it years ago. To boot, the Land Down Under holds one of the biggest and best LGBT events in the world- the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Hopefully, Aussies do the right thing and vote ‘YES’ in an upcoming Australian Marriage Equality Vote.
Ian Thorpe and his model boyfriend, Ryan Channing, team up to remind folks that time is running out to vote for marriage equality before the August 24 deadline. To show how easy it is to enroll, Thorpe challenges Channing in a race. Obviously, not head-to-head in the pool because that wouldn’t be fair. Instead, Ian declares it’s faster to update your polling information than it is for Ryan to swim two lengths in the pool.
Watch the video below to find out who wins. Hopefully LGBT rights win in September 😉
