Even though Netflix announced House Of Cards would be ending as Anthony Rapp went public with his allegations against Kevin Spacey, the streaming service claims the decision to end its flagship series was made weeks before. When more victims came forward, Spacey was ousted. After nearly three months later, production on the final season finally resumes this Wednesday and with some new faces.
Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear are joining the political series. They’ll be playing siblings that are somehow connected to Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood, who is now the center of the series. No other details about their characters have been revealed.
The political drama first premiered in 2013 and marked Netflix’s first piece of original programming. It’s the first original online television series to receive major Emmy nominations. To date, it has received 33 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor for Spacey, and Outstanding Lead Actress for Robin Wright, for each of its first five seasons.
