During the Summer, FOX should really consider changing its name to GRN- the Gordon Ramsay Network. With Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Masterchef and Hotel Hell, the British chef dominates the schedule with his reality television offerings. Looks like the Ramsay domination isn’t going to end anytime soon. The network just announced it’s renewing freshman series Hotel Hell for a second season. I, for one, couldn’t be happier. The show has become a quick favorite and definitely one of the highlights this summer.
The response to Hotel Hell has been “truly extraordinary”, according to Gordon. He’s not fibbing either. The show is the summer’s highest-rated new broadcast series. It’s been averaging 5.3 million viewers for it’s first four episodes, and been on an upward curve. The most recent airing attracted 5.9 million eyeballs and will probably see even more for its season finale on Monday September 3rd when FOX airs back-to-back episodes.
Hotel Hell follows the 45-year-old as he helps struggling hotel owners to fix their properties and practices. From hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts, Gordon proves he’s not only a master in the kitchen, but in all aspects of the hospitality industry. That said, I wish the show didn’t focus so much on the culinary services of the hotel. Another small complaint I have with the show is it spends most of the program highlighting the problems of the establishment, but only a few minutes on the resolution. Perhaps, FOX should consider making it a two-hour show to fully document the makeover.
I digress. I really do love the show, but with a few changes, it could be even better. That said, check out a video below where Gordon Ramsay reveals his three biggest hotel pet peeves, three things he demands, and favorite things about staying somewhere.
Are you watching Hotel Hell? Do you watch any of Gordon Ramsay’s other shows? What’s the worst hotel you’ve ever stayed at? Sound off below.

Oh God, I stayed at this super old hotel once, it was right on the beach and it was the shadiest hotel I have ever had the displeasure to stay in.
The bedding was moist-y from the extreme humidity in the air so everything smells, and don’t get me started on the bathroom. It’s ick-nast to the fullest. No power in the shower, shit was rusty everywhere, covered in lime, etc. Needless to say I bailed out after one night. Dunno how I even managed to stay there for that long.
