Oh my. I don’t know if I should be flattered, afraid, or amused. Nonetheless, I appreciate the mention. I really wasn’t commenting for any other purpose other than constructive criticism.
Tommy – Yes, I realize it’s a “gay site”, but my initial comment discussed the consistent gay subject matter, my complaint was that there’s no variety. I don’t think I’m an idiot for that, but just as you can’t change my opinion of you, I can’t change yours of me.
HOWEVER, after keeping quiet for the last week, I’ve noticed how much this site has grown and how the authors are covering a VARIETY of topics (my god, even hockey!). I really have to commend Kevin for his consistent and relevant articles, especially surrounding the gay marriage debate (and of course the most recent psycho bf story, who sounds incredibly heinous and awful). Also, Rich, I don’t feel you “gave me a bad time”, as you were correct in stating that I chose an inappropriate place to make that comment.
Anyway, hah….. thanks for the shout out guys. You’re a very amusing group. Love you lots Tommy :p

Fun question. Who decides what posts get on the site and which don’t? I know for a fact that comments from viewers are censored by the Homorazzi cast (or a select few anyway) and I can fully understand the need for this. No body wants to see a bigot come on and throw out insults/threats/etc… But I can’t help but wonder the reasons behind stopping someone from sharing their point of view on a topic if it is done in a respectful manner. Sensitivities? Soft skin? Personal opinions about those making the posts perhaps?
It seems like there is no love lost for Trish who has posted more than a few negative and down right rude comments (and I agree that she is entitled to her opinion), but yet other people are discriminated against.
It is your site in the end and you can run it the way you wish. I just thought I would throw that out there. I wonder if this will make it on the site or if perhaps I have hit a nerve and will be shunned from making posts myself…

While another extension has not YET been confirmed, the team is working FULL OUT to find a new home for The “O”. In spite of what many have said, this has been a year long search already, and I believe the universe WILL provide!
Keep up the great work building this homo site, -Blair

That’s a great question “disappointed”- you’re right, we do have the ability to confirm or reject comments (like any website) and have used that ability in cases like you mentioned with insults, threats, etc… Having said that, we do not believe in stopping anyone from sharing their view on any topic- provided that it’s done in a respectful manner (and clearly that does not mean they have to agree with the author). Unfortunately, we also receive a lot of spam comments which the system is set up to automatically pick out for us. Sometimes comments from real people get flagged as spam when they really aren’t and if we forget to look at the comments in that folder, they won’t ever get approved. Thanks for the reminder to go and check the folder because I found some comments that shouldn’t have been in there!

I hope that Odyssey can stay open. I had great time in there when i was visiting Vancouver last year. Such a nice place for gay ppl to hangout and dance.
