The Hollywood Reporter’s roundtable discussions are everything. They’re a little long, but I love playing them in the background while multitasking. The publication handpicks a distinguished group of people in the same field to sit around and discuss everything career-related. Since their new one features my current female crush (Kerry Washington), I simply had to watch it and write a post.
During Oscar awards seasons, two THR roundtables included Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Sally Field, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz, Helen Hunt and Marion Cotillard chatting amongst themselves while Alan Arkin, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, John Hawkes, Matt Damon, and Richard Gere kicked back and talked about their experiences in another clip. Directors and writers also had their separate discussions.
With Emmy nominations just around the corner, the publication unveiled their new cover featuring six actresses hoping to get a nod in the drama acting category. Connie Britton, 46 (ABC’s Nashville), Anna Gunn, 44 (AMC’s Breaking Bad), Kate Mara, 30 (Netflix’s House of Cards), Elisabeth Moss, 30 (AMC’s Mad Men, Sundance’s Top of the Lake), Monica Potter, 41 (NBC’s Parenthood), and Kerry Washington, 36 (ABC’s Scandal) gathered to talk on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Between trading war stories about terrible jobs, wearing Spanx to auditions, their confusion over social media and everything in between, these ladies launched the magazine’s 2013 Emmy Roundtable Series.
