A brand new HBO series called ‘Girls‘ from writer/director Lena Dunham is debuting later this spring, and we’ve got your first look at the trailer. The show is a comedic look at “the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s”. Dunham, of ‘Tiny Furniture‘, wrote and directed the pilot of the series and executive produces it along with Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner.

The storyline follows Dunham’s character, Hannah, whose parents have just cut her off financially and whose boyfriend is treating her heart like monkey meat. The cast of ‘Girls’ also includes Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Adam Driver and Zosia Mamet among others. Some of the quotes in this trailer are hilarious: “So I calculated and I can last in New York for three and a half more days. Maybe even if I don’t eat lunch.” LOL – the writing sounds amazing.

Episodes were shot in New York. The ten-episode season debuts in 2012.The series premiere of “Girls” takes place on Sunday, April 15th. For now, check out the first trailer below!
