OH. MY. GOSH.  I just watched the trailer for part 1 of ‘ The Deathly Hollows‘ – the 2-part finale in the Harry Potter series – and wow, it’s going to be a clutch-my-pearls type of movie.  It’s an understatement to say I am excited for this movie.  If only I didn’t have to wait until November to see it.  Damn it.

I was first introduced to Harry Potter in the 7th grade when my mom gave me ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ as Valentine’s day gift (my mom is cool like that).  At first I was skeptical and kind of had an attitude of ‘uh, thanks…mom…?’  but then I started reading the book and didn’t put it down for nearly two days until I had finished it because it was that good.  From then on I was hooked and read all the books as soon as they were released.  I remember how much controversy surrounded the Harry Potter books when they were first made available to kids in the schools.  Some parents were up in arms about the ‘magical wizarding world of Harry Potter’ and how it promoted witchcraft and what not.  Which, is absolutely ridiculous because no matter how hard I try I still can’t turn on a light by saying ‘lumos’ or unlock my door by saying ‘alohomora.’  Maybe I need a different wand… Anyway, once the controversy subsided, people realized how big of a phenomena the Harry Potter series was and it’s been growing ever since.

The books were fabulous and all, but as soon as the movies started to roll out I couldn’t contain myself.  I’ve seen every one (and scrutinized them down to the last detail compared to the books) and have found it increasingly hard to wait for the new ones to come out.  So when I stumbled across the trailer for part 1 of ‘The Deathly Hallows’ I (gay) gasped and stopped what I was doing to watch.  It’s going to be so good and will hopefully follow the story line of the book more accurately than the last one.  Part of me doesn’t want to watch any more trailers just so I’ll be really surprised by the movie, but I don’t think I have the will power.

Check out the trailer below and let me know your thoughts.
