Lifetime aired William & Kate: The Movie just 11 days before Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton tied the knot. Not surprisingly, the network is doing the same for Prince Harry’s big day. Producers just announced the actors chosen to play the royal leads and shockingly they’re pretty bang-on.
Newcomer Murray Fraser (The Loch) and Parisa Fitz-Henley (Jessica Jones and Midnight, Texas) will play Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance. The movie will “examine the history of Prince Harry (Fraser) and Meghan Markle (Fitz-Henley) from the moment they met after being set up by friends, through their initial courtship when they were able to keep their romance under wraps, and ultimately the intense global media attention surrounding their relationship and Meghan’s life as a divorced American actress.”
British filmmaker Menhaj Huda will direct the television movie. Coincidentally, he also directed an episode of E!’s The Royals. Production begins this week in Vancouver and Los Angeles. No premiere date has been set but no doubt it’ll air around the time of the royal wedding.
