Woody Harrelson In Talks To Join Han Solo Film

Woody Harrelson, as Haymitch Abernathy, helped guide Katniss Everdeen to victory during The Hunger Games. It appears he might be mentoring another warrior in the near future.

Variety reports Harrelson is in early talks to join the Hans Solo standalone film. The role he’s being eyed for is the mentor for young Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich.

With the first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One, doing boffo box office business, the pressure is on for this latest addition to deliver. With an iconic character as the main focus, I predict it’ll surpass Rogue One in terms of revenue.

If negotiations go well, Woody will join Donald Glover as Han Solo’s friend Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke and the aforementioned Ehrenreich as the titular character. Production is expected to begin this month with a May 25, 2018 release date in mind.

Excited that Harrelson might be heading to a galaxy far, far away? Weigh in below.
