Thanks to The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do,” the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack sold 2.2 million copies worldwide, making it the seventh best-selling album of 2015. The sequel’s soundtrack certainly has big shoes to fill. With the talent that’s been lined up, it has a decent shot of matching its predecessor’s success.
Artists that are contributing tracks include Tove Lo, The Dream, John Legend, Sia and Nick Jonas joining forces with Nicki Minaj. On the heels of the lead cut, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” from Taylor Swift and Zayn, the second taste has now arrived. Surprisingly, a Halsey cut was chosen as the second single instead of ones from the bigger names. It must be that good.
“Not Afraid Anymore” is an electro-pop ballad that is sung from Anastasia Steele’s point of view. After initially being reluctant of Christian’s kinky sexual escapades, it appears she’s much more comfortable in the sequel. At least based on the lyrics. Check out the track below.
