Powerful ‘My Heroes’ Halloween PSA About Gender Stereotypes Will Give You The Feels

According to Google, Wonder Woman is by far the most searched costume idea this Halloween. No doubt you’ll see plenty of adorable kids ringing your doorbell dressed as the iconic superhero on Tuesday. A few of those wearing the costume might even be boys. This powerful PSA challenges gender stereotypes when it comes to children’s Halloween costumes.

My Heroes” was produced by Landwirth Legacy Productions. The two-minute clip features parents celebrating the spooky holiday with their son and daughter. When the mom brings out the costumes, the viewer is made to believe that the boy and girl will pick Batman and Wonder Woman respectively. It’s clear that’s not the case given the dad is a bit worried how his kids’ choices will be received by society. The video shows that boys can be Wonder Woman and girls can be Batman.

Check out the heartwarming PSA below directed by Almog Avidan Antonir and written by Alexander Day and Brian Carufe. The ending will give you the feels when the dad proudly whispers “my heroes” as he looks at his sleeping children.
