When I saw the title, a part of me was hoping it was a cover of the Soul II Soul classic “Back To Life (However Do You Want Me).” Sadly, it’s not. It’s still worth a listen, especially if you’re a Hailee Steinfeld fan.
If I worked in casting, I’d always put Hailee on the top of the list. Not only is she an Oscar-nominated actress but a pop star as well. You get a two-fer whenever you book her. And let’s also state the obvious… she’s absolutely stunning.
To promote the latest installment of the Transformers saga, Bumblebee, which she stars in, the 21-year-old entertainer recorded “Back To Life” for the soundtrack. Makes sense since soundtracks are big moneymakers these days.
The electro-tinged track is another solid addition to Steinfeld’s ever-growing discography. Give it a spin below.
Hailee Steinfeld ‘Back to Life’
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
