Now that the Beatles two-episode marathon is over, Glee can start promoting the highly-anticipated Cory Monteith tribute episode. Love John, Paul, George and Ringo, but I was ready to stab Ryan Murphy if he subjected me to another song cover of the Fab Four. Who else agree with me?

“I think it turned out to be a lovely tribute, and it’s a very heartfelt look at how young people grieve. After that, we’re going to take two weeks or three weeks down to get our heads together because it’s been a really hard thing to write.” – Ryan Murphy

Titled “The Quarterback,” the episode features six performances including one by Lea Michele belting out Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love,” which was later covered by Adele. I’m pretty sure, Michele will do that rendition. She loves covering divas after all. I’m surprised there isn’t a Celine or Barbra number in the mix.

Another interesting song selection is The Pretenders “I’ll Stand By You.” For all you Gleeks out there, you probably remember Finn (Monteith) singing it previously in Season 1 to Quinn (Dianna Agron) as he looked at what he thought was his baby’s ultrasound. Speaking of Quinn, it’s odd she wasn’t asked to appear in the episode.

Check out the promo below, along with the other songs being covered on the episode. “The Quarterback” will be the last new show until Glee returns after a month-long hiatus to accommodate the MLB playoffs.
