“Glee” is making a comeback for their next episode. From what? I have no idea, but I think the episode titled, “Comeback” refers to Lea Michele’s character making a comeback on McKinley High’s social scene. The newly single Rachel enlists the help of everyone’s favorite Cheerio, Brittany, to elevate her social status. Meanwhile, Sam starts up a tribute band. From the looks of it, the subject of their tribute will be Justin Bieber. LOL.
Now that you know the two main storylines for Tuesday’s upcoming episode, let me share two of the musical numbers that’ll be featured. First Rachel and Mercedes take on one of my favorite songs from the musical “Rent“. The two will work it out on the upbeat lesbian track, “Take Me or Leave Me“. Ironically enough, Idina Menzel who plays Rachel’s mother on “Glee” is the actress who provided the vocals in both the movie version and Broadway musical. Circle of life indeed.
The other I have for you today comes courtesy of Artie and Sam. The New Directions’ boys will work out their inner boy band personas and take on Justin Bieber’s “Somebody To Love“. I can’t wait to see why the duo decided to take on this bubble gum track. Will it be a serenade to Quinn by Sam or is this part of another of Will Schuester’s silly lessons. Check out both covers below.
Which duo do you think did a better job? I’m more biased towards Rachel & Mercedes, since I love that song. But depending on the choreography and the context of the song within the plot, “Somebody To Love” could win me over. Can’t wait for Tuesday’s episode.
