One thing is certain, Glee has been struggling in the ratings department this season. And not just by a little, by a lot. The show has declined in ratings every single episode this season. Even with this week’s awesome mash ups, the show still couldn’t regain the viewers it has been losing week after week. However, the collision of Adele songs has brought Glee back on top of the music charts. So with the few big numbers planned ahead, will this give Glee the ratings shake up it needs?
It’s questionable really. Despite the fact that FOX has been leaking the songs early to try and get viewers excited about them doesn’t seem to be working at all. In fact, the hype surrounding the Adele mash-up was so large but the episode pulled in it’s lowest ratings for the season. So what gives? I’m still tuning in week after week. Despite the fact that they are throwing story lines at me left right and center, I still want to tune to see how it will all play out. So, what does Glee have in store musically? Check it out below.
According to sources close to the show, the Troubletones will be taking on a really sick upcoming mash up of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive slammed together with Destiny Child’s Survivor. Say what?! That blows my mind. And, if it’s as good as this past week’s tunes, I’m all for it. What else is in store?
We can look forward to someone in the New Directions taking on Michael Jackson’s classic hit Man In The Mirror and an unidentified gal is going to belt out Rihanna’s We Found Love. AH-MAZING! I am the most excited for both of these tracks and I cannot wait to find out their context. Now, with the release of these new songs, will you be tuning into Glee for the next few weeks?

The last 3 episodes have great but the previous episodes of this season were, well, ehh. The Glee Project this past summer got better and better, especially since it showed what went into each Glee episode. I’m over Mr. Schuester’s relationship issues, irritated with Rachel and Sue has become a cartoon of her character. Like Rory a lot. Glad some characters are graduating, giving room for new characters. The theme with Santana promises to really interesting. It seems as those that birthed Glee have gone onto other projects, turning over the shop to 2nd string people.

The truth is that the next lineup doesn’t sound very good. They can’t make an amazing episode with Gaga and Adele songs, and expect the ratings to just pop, anyway. They’ve built the momentum, they have to keep it up. The Survivor mashup looks corny, there are better songs from Michael Jackson, and We Found Love is super overrated. It doesn’t sound like any of them tie in with the plots, too.

i approve of Santana’s character, lot of density is revealed; Brittany on the other hand displays flashes of maturity unlike most characters.
Rory seems to a decent character so far, though SamEvans is incredibly cute but i believe Rory is more likable..
Rachael and Kurt are just…blah, despite Lea’s amazing voice. Shelby is evolving. Sue ! im still afraid of her and Santana both.
Mr.Shue ! i dunno he’s severely boring! season 2 may have ruined season 3′s excellent chances, especially when the latter is proving to be brilliant.

Where are you getting your ratings source from? ‘Mash Off’ viewer ratings were higher then that of ‘The First Time’.
Yes so far the season is not off to a great start based on the last 6 episodes the show has a 7.9 million, which is better than the same period covered by season 1 (7.4 million), but not as great as the same period of season 2 (11.8)
Alot of glee fans have been worried that the show will get cancelled, and if the ratings drop below 5million it just might. But the one thing going for the show is that with the release of MP3′s for each episode the show is pulling in much more money then a show with twice its ratings. My hope is that ratings recover and my guess is that we will get a season 4 at the very least.

An element of Glee’s popularity is a devoted fan base around the world, along with album sales, as Steve-O mentions. Glee tunes have risen to the top of the charts in the U.K. for instance. Damian McGinty (Rory) brings his world wide fan base to Glee as a former member of Celtic Thunder. I suspect Glee has somewhat different set of factors keeping it afloat than most TV series.

Get Sue back into MHS on a regular basis stirring up trouble. The less Sue in an episode, the worse it is.
