Hands down BEST.GLEE.MASHUP.PERFORMANCE.EVER!!! If you think I’m exaggerating, clearly you’re not a musical loving homo. This was the gayest thing I’ve ever seen on the show… and that’s saying a lot. Adding even more gay mojo was a cameo by RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 & 3 contestant Shangela.
FOX hyped Glee’s Thanksgiving episode for New Directions’ sectionals performance of “Gangnam” style and the return of Dianna Agron (Quinn). While all entertaining in their own right, the episode was all about Blaine and Rachel’s orphans Thanksgiving dinner in Bushwick, Brooklyn with Brody and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Isabelle Wright. PS. I actually missed Quinn. That bitch slap between Santana and her was EPIC.
The second SJP stepped out of the subway saying “Oooh, she’s been a bitch tonight,” I literally SQUEALED. No lie. I had no idea the show was going to cover Scissor Sisters’ summer jam “Let’s Have A Kiki“. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, halfway through the song, Rachel belts out “Turkey Lurkey Time” from the 1968 Broadway musical, Promises, Promises. At this point, I was practically jizzing all over the place. I was in heaven. I rewound the performance a couple of times, and by a couple I mean numerous.
Check out the mashup performance below. I also embedded a performance of “Turkey Lurkey Time” from the Tony Awards show. You simply have to watch it. The woman in the center with the short hair is frickin’ amazing. Girlfriend gives it her all and then some.
I was introduced to this clip a couple of years ago from a friend who was obsessed with the Tony Awards. And for that, I thank him. Had I no previous knowledge, I might not have enjoyed Glee’s mashup as much as I did.
Just in case you were hibernating this summer and didn’t learn the dance moves, here’s the clip. This video never gets old. So sad that Scissors Sisters are on an indefinite hiatus.
I have to admit the “Gangnam Style” Sectionals performance was a bit of a letdown. That said, this behind the scenes clip is cute. Becca Tobin (Kitty) speaking Korean is everything. So is the banter with Chord Overstreet, Blake Jenner and Jacob Artist. Check it out below.
What did you think of Glee’s “Thanksgiving” episode? What was your favorite performance? Happy to see Quinn back? Are you enjoying Season 4 of the FOX musical show? Sound off below.

Wait, they won’t say mother fucker on in the song, but they will say Hunti? Are we just assuming people won’t look that up? Cause I know I did as soon as I heard it.

My husband asks me why I come to this website all the time and my answer is: because it’s the only place I can go where people think exactly like me. You have just proved this true once again. I jumped off the couch when SJP was walking up those stairs out of the subway. That mashup was marvelous.

I have to agree, for all the crap that has happened this season, this made up for it. I wasn’t really into the song, but this mash-up was superb. I really love SJP on Glee, every time she or Kate Hudson are on I forget the bad parts of the season. The only way they could improve is bringing Kristin Chenoweth back for an episode (or more).

Girlfriend in the middle of Turkey-Lurkey Time at the Tony Awards is the great Donna McKechnie who went on to win a Tony Award for playing Cassie in A Chorus Line. Michael Bennett, who conceived, directed and co-choreographed A Chorus Line, was the choreographer of Promises, Promises.

EvChemical, I think Kristin Chenoweth is a fantastic performer too and she should be a permanent character, but she has other more important things to do like regular TV, movies and Wicked. I’m not so pleased with the Gangnam Style rendition though simply because they should have done it in English or away from the stage with an equally interesting but different setting. I have been following the show with my DISH coworker since it started and although I don’t care for the teen plots, I love the singing. I also watch commercial free with Auto Hop on my DISH Hopper DVR because I save enough time to watch another show that evening. That is great because I love TV but I never seem to have enough time to watch everything I like.

Not a permanent character. Part of her charm is that she wanders in and out quickly. Gangman Style was annoying. I can’t believe that they chose it for a showpiece songs. I’d have preferred they did pretty much anything instead. Then again all the songs in that concert (sectionals? Reigonals? I mix them up) were bad. I was rooting for the Amish kids.
