Lena Dunham Reveals Shoshanna & Jessa Won’t Appear In ‘Girls’ Series Finale

Hope you said your farewells to Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) during the penultimate episode of Girls. Lena Dunham revealed on Instagram that two quarters of the Brooklyn foursome won’t appear in the series finale. Can’t say that I’m all that surprised. Shoshanna has been practically missing in action during the season.

“From the first day we paired them together in fall 2010, we knew these two TV cousins had something kinetic,” Dunham wrote on Instagram. “And it’s true- even when they were battling, Jessa & Shoshanna had this insane Hepburn/Tracy Laverne/Shirley energy that just made us laugh so hard and feel so much. Last night was their final episode of Girls. No words for how we’ll miss writing for them, watching them, working alongside them.”

Brooklyn’s worst best friends gathered one last time on Sunday night’s episode. The girls haven’t had the best relationship with each other in a while but pushed their past differences aside for a night before Hannah moved away to upstate New York to teach at a college. They danced together one last time at Shosh’s engagement party.

Are you bummed you won’t see the twosome on the finale? Will you miss the show? How do you think Dunham will end the HBO comedy? Weigh in below.
