Calvin Harris Debuts Cinematic Clip For ‘Giant’

Happy 40th goes out to Calvin Harris. Not because he hit that milestone age, but rather, for achieving a career milestone. “Giant” becomes the 35-year-old Scottish DJ’s 40th Top 40 production. Calvin certainly has the Midas Touch when it comes to creating smash bops. Expect plenty more in the future.

“Giant” features Rag’n’Bone Man on vocals. It’s a carefree dance anthem with a bombastic chorus. The 34-year-old English singer-songwriter revealed the inspiration behind his hit collabo with Harris on Instagram.

“I wrote this song 4 years ago reflecting about my childhood and how parents aren’t always as strong as they seem. “I am a giant” is me telling my parents, “it’s my time to look after you” but the production was never right, it just got left in the vault for all that time. Fast forward to 2018 and I got word Calvin wanted to work on it. He properly breathed a new life into a song I hold very dearly. It’s mad how it took this shape and I’m happy for people to finally hear it!!”

Check out the cinematic clip below directed by Harris’ long-time collaborator Emil Nava. It centers on a young man carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders due to his mother suffering a serious illness. Meanwhile, Calvin taps into his inner woodsman. Yeah, I don’t get the latter, but oh well 😉
