While ChatRoulette.com seems to be the latest thing (at the very least for it’s bizarre entertainment value), a number of spinoffs are following suite – welcome to GayRoulette.com. I first mentioned Chat Roulette to you at the beginning of February as it started to take off. Although very entertaining, there are some problems with it. A lot of people use it to “get off,” and gays, straights, men, and women don’t really all mix together well in that regard. You’re either into guys or you’re not. Into girls, or your not – and so on. Having clicked through Chat Roulette on occasion, there are homophobes ready and waiting with a “Fag” sign here and there. It’s actually quite an interesting social experiment to witness the phenomenon that is Chat Roulette. You have people of all shapes & sizes, ages, sexual orientations, sexes, and motivations – all in one “room” together, doing whatever they want.

With that, as I mentioned, there are some people that want to “get off” and some people who want to hate gays and send people the middle finger. Was bound to happen I suppose. So with that, GayRoulette, amongst other sites, have been erecting everywhere.

So I checked out GayRoulette.com and it was not at all what I expected. With Chat Roulette being so nude and “cock out” heavy, I expected the same on this site. Quite the contrary. Every person I encountered as I went through were all fully clothed, and actually looking completely bored out of their tree. Maybe it hasn’t caught on yet, or maybe it just won’t. The other thing about it is that I don’t think it can handle that much traffic as of yet. You might see this message often: “All users are currently engaged in sessions. Hit NEXT to try again.” To top it off, I wasn’t attracted to one person I saw. Here are all of the men I saw on there, one after the other.

To be fair, I’d be annoyed if someone was “screen shotting” pics of me on here, but there is a disclaimer on all of these video chat sites and before you click “accept” for your camera to turn on, you have to agree that you are aware you may be “recorded” – so it’s all fair I suppose. Anyway, you should see some of the crazy pics of people on ChatRoulette that have been surfacing on sites all over the net. Be careful out there boys & girls!

Another couple gay copycat videochat sites (mentioned by a couple readers who left comments on my Chat Roulette article) are GayCity.com and M4M Roulette but I was never able to get those ones to work.
