Hey fellow homos. How’s everyone’s Christmas shopping getting along? Thankfully, Patrick and I completed a big chunk of our list yesterday afternoon. Getting out of the house to do a few holiday tasks definitely helped get me in the Christmas spirit, something I feel like I have been lacking in this year. If you are like me and need a little holiday pep, I’ve decided to compile a list of some of my favorite Christmas tracks to add to your playlist. Here we go. (Please note, this article is being written very tongue in cheek.) Enjoy!
This song is a must-have on your holiday homo playlist. It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser at any party and will make your spirits gay and bright! It doesn’t hurt that George Michael who’s on our team is the mastermind behind this Christmas tune that we all know and love. See more of my holiday favorites below.
This song has a special place in my heart. Growing up, my late mother used to listen to a local radio station that would play this song every morning during the Christmas season. It really makes me think of her and our morning breakfasts together before school. Plus, a little Boney M is good for the soul.
I love love love that the Spice Girls remade this Christmas track. It always puts a big smile on my face whenever it comes up on my iPod. If you don’t have, I suggest you download it immediately!
This song was an instant favorite for me the moment I heard it. It appeared on a Now That’s What I Call Christmas compilation album and had instant radio success internationally. Now, it’s a Christmas staple every year for me.
I don’t need to say much about this song other than the fact that if you’re a homo, and you don’t have this on your holiday playlist, I’m taking your card away. That is all.
I know all of the words to this little Christmas ditty. I actually purchased this CD when it came out because I loved the song so much. My how times have changed. I think Justin Timberlake should come out with a Christmas album. Wouldn’t that be great?
In 1999, 98 Degrees released their own Christmas album titled This Christmas which featured the song “This Gift” which became another song to instantly add to my holiday music list. Did anyone else watch their Christmas special? I think I recorded it on VHS! LOL
This is quite possibly the dirtiest Christmas song you will ever but has some of my favorite lyrics of all time. “Light me up, put me on top…” and “My Christmas Tree is so delicious…” Amazing and only Lady Gaga.
I miss Destiny’s Child so much, even though this track is mainly a Kelly Rowland solo. I took a dance class over the holiday season one year and the choreographer taught this track. I absolutely love it and I think you’ll love it too.
This track (like Mariah’s) needs little introduction and should be on ANY holiday playlist for anyone.
Last year, this song was one of my absolute favorites from Glee’s Christmas episode. It was really the first time that we saw Kurt and Blaine get super romantic. It doesn’t hurt that they’re performing one of the most romantic of Christmas tunes.
I’m dedicating this section to the newcomers to my playlist this year. They’re not the classics we’ve been singing for a few years, but have definitely earned a very special slot of the playlist this season. Check them out below.
No one’s got swagger like Justin and Busta on this new holiday melody. Both of their raps are amazing giving this classic holiday number a fresh new spin. If you haven’t picked up Justin’s Christmas album, it’s definitely a must-have.
My girl Tara Lett released her first Christmas track this year and it’s getting some serious buzz on Canadian radio. It’s got an excellent pop flare that makes it the perfect addition to your holiday mix.
I have had this whole album on replay for a few days now. It’s great breakfast, lunch and dinner music. Definitely add this to your holiday music collection.
If you love Zooey Deschanel, then you will love She & Him’s new Christmas album. The duo recently visited The Ellen Show to sing this classic you are seeing above. It’s a light, fun and hipster kind of Christmas listening to this track and album.
