The future for Future Man isn’t so bright. Hulu has renewed the Josh Hutcherson sci-fi comedy for a third season, but it will be its last. Unlike the first two seasons which consisted of 13 episodes, the last run will only include eight.
The series starred Hutcherson as Josh Futturman, a janitor by day and world-ranked gamer by night who travels through time to prevent the extinction of humanity after mysterious visitors from the future proclaim him the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion. It also featured Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, Ed Begley, Jr. Gleene Headly and Haley Joel Osment.
It hasn’t been a good week for executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Their other series, Preacher, received a similar fate. AMC renewed it for a fourth and final season which will air this August.
