This summer, director Craig Gillespie is ready to give you a scare with his reboot of the 1985 Tom Holland classic of the same name, Fright Night. What makes this film unique from the first is that Touchstone will be releasing the new redux in Real 3D on August 19th.

Charley (played by Anton Yelchin) is a teenager convinced that his next door neighbor (played by Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Charley’s disbelieving mother (played by Toni Collette) falls under the vampire’s spell. When the teens begin to confide in a Las Vegas magician, Peter Vincent, they discover soon enough that he is less than helpful.

The film began shooting in June of last year and didn’t wrap until October in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While I have never been on board the vampire train, I feel like this film is missing the boat and is a season short of hitting the vampire craze. Only box office numbers will tell.
