Last weekend, a few of the Homorazzi crew attended Friends & Company‘s “Mad Men Cocktail Culture Party” at the famed Opus Hotel here in Vancouver. Hosted by the infamously fabulous Joan-e, all proceeds from the event went to support Out in Schools.
The event was all out Mad Men. Starting with a red (actually, appropriately pink) carpet out front, guests enjoyed old fashioned 1960s drinks (sponsored by Belvedere Vodka) and everyone dressed up for the occasion proving that Vancouverites CAN really step up to the plate for a theme party. I was so impressed with the details, down to the vintage magazines on the tables to the Mad Men masks, and photo booth. Trevor Kramer and Martin Spencer, the men who founded Friends & Company and put on the sold out event, did a fabulous job for a great cause.
It was also great to see Mary Zilba (RHOV), Fiona Forbes (Urban Rush), and Mashiah Vaughn (Deussault Inc.) to come out and support the event as well. They are also behind helping to bring the NOH8 campaign to Vancouver in less than a month. Marika Palmer of RHOV and her husband, Frank Palmer, Vancouver’s own real life Don Draper, founder of Canada’s leading ad agency, Palmer Jarvis DDP, and member of the Marketing Hall of Legends, also turned out to show their support. Check out all of the photos below. We look forward to attending the Friends & Company luncheon this coming Friday, also benefiting Out in Schools!
