As if American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Feud and the upcoming Pose wasn’t enough on his plate, Ryan Murphy has another project heading our way soon. FOX aired the first promo for 9-1-1 during the World Series game on Friday night.
9-1-1 is a fast-paced exploration into the lives and careers of first responders – cops, paramedics, firefighters – the people who put their lives on the line to save others. The new procedural is based on the real-life, high-pressure experiences of emergency response providers who are thrust into heart-stopping situations that are equal parts unpredictable, intense and uplifting. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
The cast is headlined by Academy and Emmy Award nominee Angela Bassett and Emmy nominees Peter Krause and Connie Britton. They’re joined by Oliver Stark (Into The Badlands), Aisha Hinds (Underground), Kenneth Choi (The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story) and Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break).
9-1-1 debuts in January on FOX. Check out the promo below. The series appears to have some lighthearted moments amid all the drama. Murphy does love to inject humor no matter the subject.
