CMAs Debut Star-Studded ‘Forever Country’ Mashup For 50th Anniversary

forever-country-music-videoThe 50th annual CMA Awards broadcast live from Nashville November 2nd. To celebrate this momentous milestone, country royalty teamed up for an epic music video.

The likes of Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Little Big Town and many more sing to a medley/mashup of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.”

“We wanted to bring artists together from the past and from now and do something that would be really special to them and also to everyone who loves this music,” says Shane McAnally, who produced the song. “I hope this is a great timepiece for the legacy of country music.”

The accompanying clip was shot in Nashville over three days. Grammy-winning director and frequent Taylor Swift collaborator Joseph Kahn was selected to direct the clip which incorporates plenty of CGI, placing the country stars at various locations around the world.
