“Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes…”

Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough star in the remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic, “Footloose” which is set to hit theaters October 14, 2011. The trailer (and movie poster for that matter – above left) have just been released and the film definitely looks promising. The film is a modern take on the 80s hit (with today’s music and dance moves), but there is naturally some homage paid to the original. For example, Ren’s sunshine-colored Volkswagen is the same in the new version, as is his crazy red tuxedo.

The sexy Kenny Wormald talked to MTV, recalling the first time he watched the original Footloose as a 10 year old kid. “I remember the ‘angry dance’ when he’s going nuts through the factory, and I was like, ‘What is he doing? This is awesome!’ It’s 20 years later, and I’m doing it myself. It’s pretty insane,” he said. That would be so surreal. Check out the film below and let me know if you think the film will be good, or actually a slap in the face of the original. Either way, I can’t wait until this remake is “cut loose”!
