CHECK OUT THE MUSIC VIDEO BELOW. ESTELLE GIVES HOMORAZZI.COM A SHOUT OUT BEFORE THE VID
English R&B singer is back with a brand new single and music video. Coming off her huge hit “American Boy” from her second album “Shine”, she’s once again collaborated with a hip-hop artist. Instead of using the rapping stylings of Kanye West, Estelle has teamed up with “Dangerous” Kardinal Offishall.
At first listen, the track seems more fitted to Kelis, but when you reach the chorus… it’s all Estelle. I love how the UK singer has incorporated one of my favorite UK bands of the late 80s/early 90s, Soul II Soul. “Back to Life” was one of the biggest hits of its time and hearing Estelle use the hook for her single is brilliant.
The David Guetta produced “Freak” is the lead-off single of Estelle’s forthcoming third cd release, “All of Me”. Guetta seems to be everywhere these days. I guess he’s the go-to-hot producer du jour by churing out hits “When Love Takes Over” and the Peas’ “I’ve Got A Feeling”. The new album is expected to drop later this year and I cannot wait. I absolutely loved “Shine” and felt it was one of the most underrated albums released that year.
Be sure to check out her trippy intergalactic music video below. The super-cosmic clip was directed by Nabil Elderkin and is a delicious visual combination of Missy Elliott meets Grace Jones. In the past Elderkin has worked with The Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Seal and Estelle’s mentor, Kanye West.
Did you love it or did YOU LOVE IT? It isn’t “American Boy”, but it has potential to be another huge hit for the English songstress. Weigh in below. PS. This song is screaming to be remixed. The dance remixes for this track are guaranteed to be scorching hot.
