Ellie Goulding Covers ‘Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)’

Ellie Goulding is in a post-impressionist mood. The 31-year-old singer covers Don McLean’s classic “Vincent.” McLean wrote the 1971 hit after reading a book about the life of Vincent van Gogh. In addition to referencing Van Gogh’s masterpiece The Starry Night, the song also describes different paintings by the artist.

Goulding’s cover is, as expected, beautiful. Her delicate vocals glide gracefully over the guitar-acoustic arrangement. If you loved the original recording, you’ll appreciate Ellie’s nostalgic rendition. If you’ve never heard “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)” before, check out both versions before.
