Wow, what a difference two weeks make. Greyson Michael Chance was just an unknown talented 12-year-old kid a few weeks ago. Then a video of him performing Lady Gaga on a piano pops on YouTube, then instant stardom. When Ellen DeGeneres first saw the video, it was at an already impressive 10,000 views but as of today it’s at over 20,000,000 views. To top that off, he now secured a recording deal and signed on with big time managers.
The Oklahoma-native is the first person signed to DeGeneres new record label, eleveneleven and will be managed by Guy Oseary and Troy Carter. Oseary is Madonna’s manager while Carter is Lady Gaga’s. Justin Bieber better watch out. There’s another underage mop-head with talent looking to overthrow you as the teen heartthrob du jour.
After Greyson’s performance on The Ellen Show, he was gifted with a new piano and received a $10,000 check. Ellen is expected to make the official announcement during her show on Wednesday May 26. For a while there, everyone and their dog was starting a fashion line and fragrance. Now it seems the “IT” thing to do is start a record label. With Ellen and Perez both entering the world of music and wanting to be big time music moguls, who can we expect to be next?
Just in cast you haven’t seen the video before, here it is again:
