This just in…a 26 year old German man name Edis Kayalar is being charged with trying to extort $100,000 from entrepreneur Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s husband. How was he doing it? Well, pretty disturbing actually. He was trying to get 100,000 big ones out of him with a photo of their daughter tied to chair and gagged. Wow, this is right out of the Ransom movie with Mel Gibson.

Well, their children are safe and sound, so where did this photo come from? According to an affidavit from the little girl that is part of the case, it had been taken earlier this year by their former nanny…she and the 7 year old were playing cops & robbers. The nanny had been fired a week before the extortion call by Kayalar had been made. The nanny has been charged with nada.

So Gerber met up with the extortionist and he did actually give him $1,000 for the photo, but he later started asking for more claiming that he had another copy of the photo and that he thought he’d be able to get $500,000 for the photo from the tabloids. What douche!

Cindy Crawford’s spokeswoman (Annett Wolf) has issued a statement saying:

“Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter.”

Kayalar could face up to 2 years in prison for this. I think he should get the full two years. This was pretty low. It’s a 7 year old girl! Seriously, don’t mess with a supermodel. The only runway you’ll be walking is the walkway to your cell in prison, buddy.
