Ed Sheeran collaborated with folk band Beoga for his latest single “Galway Girl.” Since the track features the Irish act and mixes traditional Irish music with pop, it only makes sense the accompanying visual be shot in Ireland- fittingly in Galway.
Though the clip is directed by Jason Koenig, the “Shape of You” hitmaker took it upon himself to film the footage. And beautifully shot I might add.
After finishing his concert, Ed heads out for a night on the town with his love interest, played by Oscar-nominated actress, Saoirse Ronan. The night includes bar hopping, drinking plenty of liquor and at one point, Sheeran getting punched in the face. It ends with our two lovers enjoying the sunrise while embracing on a balcony.
Check out the fun clip below. It’s pretty much a love letter to Ireland. Watching it reminded me of how much I loved my time there. Need to book a return trip ASAP.
