÷ debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It earned 451,000 equivalent album units, 322,000 in traditional album sales, for the week ending March 10. That marks the biggest sales week for an album in 2017. It’s still early in the year, so don’t expect that number to hold up by the time the year ends. This marks the 26-year-old singer’s second album to take the No. 1 spot.
In other Sheeran-related news, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss announced at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas that the English singer-songwriter will appear on the hit HBO show’s seventh season. Excited to see Sheeran head to Westeros? Game of Thrones returns on July 16 on HBO.
