DWTS Top 10 Dances Of All Time

Tonight, we were treated to the Top 10 Dances of all time on Dancing With the Stars as voted by you the viewers, in celebration of their 200th episode. We were able to vote on any dance by any star from all previous 10 seasons. I agree with some of the list but I think some incredible dances are missing. Here is the list from bottom to the top!

10: SHAWN JOHNSON AND MARK BALLAS – FREESTYLE – SEASON 8

SONG: Do Your Thing
Did You Know?: Mark chose green for their costumes because it is his favorite color. At 17 years old, Shawn was the youngest champion of Dancing With the Stars. The day before the show, during rehearsal, Shawn gave herself a concussion attempting the backflip with Mark. Too bad they didn’t pick the one where Mark got a boner during their performance. A MUST Google image search: “mark ballas erection”. Enjoy!

9: DONNY OSMAND AND KYM JOHNSON – ARGENTINE TANGO – SEASON 9

SONG: Tango A Pugliese
Did You Know?: This is the first of two Argentine Tangos in the the Top 10. At 51 years old, Donny became the oldest champion of Dancing With the Stars.

8. HELIO CASTRONEVES AND JULIANNE HOUGH – QUICKSTEP – SEASON 5

SONG: Hey Pachuco
Did You Know?: Len said Helio looked like a “great big dancing banana” during this dance. Julianne wasn’t expecting his surprise kiss at the end of the dance.

7. APOLO OHNO AND JULIANNE HOUGH – FREESTYLE – SEASON 4

SONG: Bust A Move
Did You Know?: Julianne shouted so much during the rehearsals of this dance that she lost her voice. This dance really shows Apolo’s growth throughout the season.

6. JOANNA KRUPA AND DEREK HOUGH – FUTURISTIC PASO – SEASON 9

SONG: Living On Video
Did You Know?: When Joanna got ahead of the music, Derek mirrored her movements to stay in sync. What a smart pro. Derek didn’t decide to add eye stripe make-up until the final dress rehearsal.

5. MEL B AND MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY – PASO DOBLE – SEASON 5

SONG: Free Your Mind
Did You Know?: Mel B’s schedule only allowed her a few short hours to learn and rehearse this number. Wow. I can’t even tell, and its not easy choreography. Mel and Maks often spend Thanksgiving together at her family’s home. Hmm. Interesting.

4. NICOLE SCHERZINGER AND DEREK HOUGH – 50’s PASO – SEASON 10

SONG: Spanish Guitar
Did You Know?: Nicole wanted Derek as her partner so bad after seeing his Futuristic Paso. Nicole is the highest placed female star in the Top 10 list. The era for this dance and for Derek’s futuristic Paso were both picked at random. Anyone else think that Derek looks like Johnny Bravo?

3. APOLO OHNO AND JULIANNE HOUGH – SAMBA – SEASON 4

SONG: I Like To Move It
Did You Know?: This routine earned the first perfect 30 of season 4. Apolo is the only star to appear twice in the Top 10 list. That allusion move with Julianne is unreal and his energy is contagious.

2. GILLES MARINI AND CHERYL BURKE – ARGENTINE TANGO – SEASON 8

SONG: Assassin’s Tango
Did You Know?: Gilles Marini now stars on the ABC Show Brothers & Sisters as Luc. Season 8 was the first time the Argentine Tango appeared as a competitive dance. Gilles placed 2nd in season 8 by less than 1% of the judges scores and votes combined. Gilles also placed 2nd on this list by less than 1000 votes. Always the bridesmaid hey Gilles?

1. DREW LACHEY AND CHERYL BURKE – FREESTYLE – SEASON 2

SONG: Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy
Did You Know?: This is the perfect scoring dance that secured them as the season 2 champions. At first Cheryl didn’t like the song but as a Country music fan, Drew insisted it stay. Good thing he did.

What crucial dances are missing for you? I think that Drew’s Freestyle is definitely NOT deserving of top honors by FAR! Nicole had the most beautiful Rumba in Season 10 that didn’t even hit the list.

What about new co-host Brooke Burke? She had some amazing routines. Oh well, at least she won the mirror ball trophy in Season 7. Four professionals have won the mirror ball twice throughout 10 of the seasons. The pros are Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, Cheryl Burke and Julianne Hough. Wow. FYI: Did you know Mark, Derek and Julianne trained and performed together in the UK when they were teenagers? Look like all that hard work paid off. Who will win the trophy this year? Thoughts?
