Normally, the hour-long results show on any reality show bores me to death. Tonight, Dancing With The Stars pleasantly surprised me. Sure, Tom Bergeron could’ve revealed the results in ten minutes, but the filler this week was tolerable.

On deck to perform were Britain’s “other” boy band The Wanted. Max George and his backup singers (LOL), sang “I Found You” and “Glad You Came” while looking dapper in their slim suits. Admittedly, I have a bit of a crush on Max, but lately that Jay McGuiness (the curly hair one) is looking pretty cute.

Earlier this season Paula Abdul joined the judges on the panel to critique the All-Stars. This time around, the 50-year-old entertainer choreographed a number featuring four of her No. 1 hits- “Straight Up“, “Forever Your Girl“, “Cold Hearted” and “Opposites Attract“. The performance incorporated previously filmed dancing footage with live segments. The results were fantastic and really allowed Abdul to shine at what she does best. She even brought out her animated duet partner MC Skat Kat from “Opposites Attract”.

The other two performances were by talented Kiwi dancer Parris Goebel and resident pro Derek Hough. The latter enlisted four female contemporary dancers for an emotional and powerful number. Co-choreographed by SYTYCD fan favorite Allison Holker, the performance also brought two other alums from the FOX show- Melanie Moore and Kathryn McCormick. I could watch Holker dance for hours. Allison not winning her season is one of the greatest travesties in reality competition history.

Check out all the aforementioned performances below. They truly are worth taking a sneak peek at. Without further ado, let’s get to the results.

DWTS All-Stars Semifinals Eliminations

Coming into tonight’s results show, Shawn Johnson was on top of the leader board with Emmitt Smith and Kelly Monaco tied at the bottom. First to hear their fate was Johnson and her partner Derek Hough. Not surprisingly, the Season 8 champ advances to next week’s finals.

Next to hear their results were Melissa Rycroft and Apolo Anton Ohno. Rycroft is the only All-Star not to have previously won, but the former Bachelor dumpee rose to the occasion, delivering two outstanding performances. The viewers responded and voted her through, thereby making Ohno, tonight’s first casualty. He takes his elimination in stride.

Kelly Monaco and Emmitt Smith were the final two in the hot seat. Smith started the competition at the top of the leaderboard during Week 1. But as the competition continued, it seemed the former NFL player lost his spark. Bergeron revealed Twinkle Toes was outta here, which meant Monaco was staying. And more importantly, I get another week to ogle at Val Chmerkovskiy’s hotness. I practically fainted this week when he performed a flamenco in tight short booty shorts. CALIENTE.

Competing in next week’s finals are Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft and Kelly Monaco. I never would’ve predicted it would be an all-female finale. At this point it’s really Johnson’s competition to lose. I really thought Ohno was her biggest competition in terms of fan support. With him gone, she’s primed to take it all. Rycroft is the only one remaining who could pull of an upset, but I would rather have a former winner take it all.
