‘Dumbo’ Is Beyond Adorable In Moving Official Trailer

When Disney first announced a live-action remake of Dumbo, I immediately groaned. The original is such a classic that any remake would automatically pale in comparison. Based on the official trailer, I might have to eat my words. This new Dumbo is adorable AF. I can’t wait to see to him spread his ears and soar.

Visionary director Tim Burton expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. The film takes place where the 1941 animated classic ends, with the big-eared elephant taking flight in the circus.

Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.

Will Smith was originally in talks to play Farrell’s part, but pulled out due to scheduling conflicts. Yah right 😉 Chris Pine and Casey Affleck were also offered the role but ultimately Colin snagged it.

Check out the full trailer below. It sorta has a Greatest Showman feel sans Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron of course. Dumbo flies into theaters on March 29, 2019.
