With the amount of people that die on Downton Abbey, PBS is continuously on the hunt for new cast members. Season 4 already boasts a bunch of new faces including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Tom Cullen, Julian Ovenden, Nigel Harman, Joanna David, and most notably Gary Carr. The latter is the first black actor to appear on the period drama.

TVLine.com reports that another character will be introduced on the season finale of the fourth season. This latest addition will be Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) brother and Martha’s (Shirley Maclaine) son. Find out who’ll step in to play Harold Levinson below.

It’s none other than the uberly talented Paul Giamatti. His character is being described as a free spirited playboy maverick. Sounds like a bunch of trouble if you ask me.

“We can’t wait to see him work alongside Shirley MacLaine, who are both sure to upset the Grantham’s apple cart in this year’s finale.” - Gareth Neame, managing director of Carnival Films

Excited for Giamatti’s addition? Are you going through Downton Abbey withdrawals? The fourth season begins in the US on January 5, 2014 on PBS. Sound off below.
